Moths are a conduit to explore light, color, form, and texture. Flowing acrylic creeps and soaks, suggesting a surface in motion or a kind of aliveness. A meditation on the form in such a way as to be past what is materially exact, something less knowable- but akin to the fact of beauty we find in organic life.
One of the many reasons moths fascinate me is their communication, typically chemical pheromones released and sensed with their elaborate antennae structures. Here, in this piece, this frame might offer a communication, a bit of coded information written out in a texture you can feel with your eyes.
